Apple Cider Sauce
Canning with Grandma C is one of my favorite memories. Seeing all those glass jars lined up on those basement shelves spoke to my soul. One of the first things she ever showed me how to can, although at the time I didn't realize I was more than a taste tester, was apple sauce. Grandma C went above and beyond though and added what can only be described as mulled apple cider spices to her sauce. Letting it simmer for longer than normal made everything blend and the house smell so good. I love the chunkier sauce but some prefer the smooth. Use on pork chops for a savory meal, with ice cream for a delicious dessert, or just pop a jar open and endulge for a yummy breakfast!
